empty all time and every once a time it jump on full , i like to fix it but where is the problem on my s10 truck?
A: I have a 97 blazer (s-10). It sounds as though the electrical connecyion in side the take, on the sending unit has fell off. Also it could be a rusted ground wire on the sending unit itself.

Q: What would cause a 1999 Chevy S10 with a 2.2 - 4 cyl. to sputter and miss?
The truck misses really bad at take off but after the RPMs are up it gets a little better. Its also worse when I have the AC running...I am not sure if its a timing issue or a fuel issue... I have changed the plugs and wires and the air filter but no luck... This truck only has 40 K miles on it
A: After changing the plugs and wires, you now need to do an ignition test. Park the truck in a really dark location and with the hood open and engine idling (parking brake on), have a friend punch the accelerator pedal quickly while you lean over the driver's side fender and look for any ignition sparks jumping off the plug wires directly to the engine and ground. If you see any, that means that plug wire is bad or is not connected well to it's spark plug and accounts for the cylinder misfire.

Q: My 1999 Chevy S10 Blazer will not start. instr. panel lights up but goes dark when switch is turned to crank.
everything appears normal when ignition switch is turned on, then when ignition is tuirned to crank, all instrument lights go out and nothing happens with the engine....NO Start at ALL!!!
A: Battery...or it's connections.
Q: is there or was there a recall on windshield wipers for 1999 chevy s10 trucks?
while driving down the road (while it was raining) i had my wipers on. the drivers side wiper went haywire and ended up out of sinc and eventually off the windshield and rested on the drivers side mirror. if there is a recall on this, i'd like to know. thanks.
A: The best way to see if there was a recall is to contact Chevrolet. When cars do have recalls though they usually send a letter out to the owner, if you bought it used though they might not have you on file. Contact Chevy and they can tell you.
Q: 1999 chevy s10 that has a check engine light on and the codes tell me it's 2 lean what can i do 2 fix it?
the codes are saying it's running to lean on both banks i'm assuming that means the left and right sides of course but what can i do to stop the light from coming on? i've tried lucas fuel injector cleaner and bumped up the gas to 93 octane so far with no success and also replaced the fuel and air filters any other thoughts out there to try?
A: Your codes are p0171 & p0174 those are lean condition codes which you already know. The only way to (as you say stop the light from coming on)is to address the problem.
preform a visual check for any cracked vacuum lines ( there's only a couple of hoses on your engine ) then check to see if the oil filler cap is seated properly (a missing oil filler cap can set a lean code) (shops often forget to reinstall them after oil changes)also check the PCV valve for proper installation, check around the mass air flow for air leaks.
if ok. you're going to need a fuel presuure gauge, key on
engine off should be between 60-65 PSI will drop to 55-60 after a couple of seconds . if pressure is low , the pump is at fault...... turn key fom ON to OFF a couple of times to maximize fuel pressure when checking it...
another thing to check for, is exhaust leaks, are the exhaust doughnuts seated and tight.
I think i've given you enough things to get you started.
if you still can't find the problem, then I suggest a visit to your local GM dealer they have the proper diagnostic equipment to correctly diag. an injector balance must be preformed and that can only be done with the scanner.
a usual diag fee is about one hour.(don't know how much they charge per hour in your area) trust me, it's worth it.
Q: Where would I find neutral safety switch on a 1999 Chevy s10?
A: Under your clutch pedal. It stops you from starting the truck unless the clutch is depressed. Usually, they are just located right under there, unless it is an electronic sensor, and in that case good luck.
Q: 1999 Chevy s10 ls check engine light on what it could be?
A: Usually under normal conditions the first thing to cause the light to come on is a bad 02 Sensor. They are subjected to extreme heat in the exhaust. They can go anytime around 60-80k miles. But like the others say... many other things can cause the light to come on as well.
Just for one example: I had a mouse chew through some wires under the hood of my brand new truck because it was not being driven very much. I found the nest right behind the air cleaner. Mice will chew on anything. These chewed wires tripped my check engine light. Lucky for me... I found the nest before the little twits chewed the whole harness up.
Q: 1999 Chevy s10 Shock problem.?
I own a 1999 Chevy s10. A couple of weeks ago i started hearing a clicking sound coming from the front right wheel. It now occurs very frequently and is getting me nervous. When I take on-off ramps and have the wheel turned to the left is when it clicks very hard or when going over uneven surfaces. I'm fairly certain that it would be my shock any advice on this problem would be greatly appreciated. Also if indeed it is the shock how difficult would the replacement be for the average person semi skilled with do it yourselfs.
A: pull off your wheel and check the bearing.
Q: How do I go about changing my front break pads for my chevy 1999 S10 rear wheel drive?
A: Chock the tires, break loose the lug nuts, jack up car, take tire offf, remove caliper retaining bolts , remove old break pads, compress caliper with a C-clamp, put on new pads and complete process in reverse to move to the next side for pad replacement. Good Luck
Q: Please Help 1999 Chevy S10 Engine Trouble?
i am having problems with my s10 its a 99 4.3L v6 4x4 and it misses very bad at low rpms and i had one head gasket replaced and it helped but it still does it and i was goin 2 chang the other one but i need a guide anyone no of 1 online thats free
i already did a compression check and went through the whole troubleshooting area in the hanyes manual and check everything im not stupid i just need help with the details cause hanyes has nothing on it
ive cleaned the injectors and i dont use cheap fuel i use vp racing fuels street blaze 100 and i dont need u to tell me whats wrong i need a guide to changing head gaskets
A: If its fuel injected have the injectors cleaned. And stop using the cheapest fuel in town, the hidden cost is replacing the fuel injection system. If your leaning out a cylinder because of a clogged injector you going to burn an exhaust valve too.
Q: is there a recall on Chevy 1999 S10 faulty transmission?

Q: 1999 Chevy S10 Truck Heater Coil?
My husband has a 99 S10 and does all the upkeep on the truck but this is the first time it has began to run hot. He knows that it is the heater coil and was wondering if anyone has changed one and what kind of task it ended up being. Or where the best resource would be to begin doing this project.
Thanks
A: Not as easy as people are telling you.
I work for a Chevy dealer and the one complaint i here most from the technicians is that they hate doing the heater core on the s-10's. There is a lot of work involved.
I suggest bringing it to the dealer and let them deal with it.
