Q: Where do I find instructions on how to install a remote start system for a 94 Ford Ranger Truck?
I want to install a remote start system for my 94 Ford Ranger, and I'm looking for detailed instructions on how to do that. The company where I purchased my equipment is called Vehicle Power Accessories. I checked their website, but they don't have instructions. Where could I find instructions?

A: I'm suprised the instructions didn't come with the kit. I would send it back and get one off of ebay. I got my for 48.00 with shipping and detailed instructions. It took me 1.5 hours to get it installed. Thats with 2 sandwiches, 4 beers and with 3 yes dear conversations.

Q: help me decide: 2002 Ford Ranger, 65k miles, 2003 73k miles?
I am trying to buy a truck, and I have narrowed down to two: 2003 Ford Ranger, 73K miles pretty standard (eg. no bed liner, no window tinting, no security key etc). 2002 Ford Ranger, 65k miles, slightly better accessories. Price is exactly the same, the 03 is gray, the 02 is white. I drive about 24k miles a year. They both look as good, but I do know that the 03 has newer components, and the 02 has fewer miles. In my shoes, which would YOU choose?

A: Try running them both through the price estimator at the Kelley Blue Book website, and see if one looks like a better deal. If you have a friend who's a mechanic, see if you can have them look at both for any potential problems. If it still looks like a wash, I'd go for the newer one.

Q: 1988 Ford Ranger Pickup, Why won't it start? (electical Problem)?
Hello everyone. I'm having a problem starting my 1988 Ford Ranger (Manual, 2.1L i think, 2x4). This problem has persisted some, but it seemed intermittent at the time. When I go to start my truck, I first turn the ignition to accessory, in which i see dash lights, my headlights work etc. I go to actually turn it on, I hear a small tick (like a switch or something) then everything goes dead. I bring back the key try again, nothing happens on the accessory, no lights nada! I've checked the battery that is fine. I've replaced the Ignition soleinoid (because last time it did this, i replaced it and it worked fine). It's been sitting for 2 weeks and i've tryed getting it to run on random times. After a while, the thing "resets" itself somehow and i do get Accessory dash lights and such, but no ignition and it goes dead again after an attempt. I got it running this morning (finally). I turned it off , back on again, but the 3rd time, it failed. What could be wrong with my ignition system?

A: I bet you have corrosion on the battery terminals , or a loose or bad battery cable. Remove the battery cables from the battery, clean the terminals and the cable ends. You may want to charge up the battery. In my experience this was the cause most of the time. It is possible the starter solenoid wires have corrosion on them too, and a remote solenoid failure possibility too. But as you described, battery connections are the most likely problem.

Q: anyone w/knowledege of manual transmission '93 Ford Ranger 2.3L?????????
I've been driving this Ranger off & on for the last 5 days, low speeds, using only 1st & 2nd gear (work truck, dumping trash). I was reversing today when it seemed to stall, I put in Neutral, tried to start it and got nothing, when I turn the key to Accessory, I get either CHECK ENGINE, CHECK OIL, or the damn battery indicator, sometimes nothing at all. I can't even get a click. Tried jumping it, nothing...

A: you have a power problem check all connections to battery most likely there is a loose cable. just start at the battery and wiggle the wires a little at a time until you get power back
