Was just curious where the o2 sensor is located on a 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 crew cab Z71, because I wanna put true duals, no cats with glasspacks!!?
A: You have 4 O2 sensors and 2 cats. You have 2 O2 per cylinder bank. So there is one sensor before the cat and one after the cat, for each side.
Running no cats will screw you, engine performance will be effected. Purchase some aftermarket high-flow units if you feel that you must get rid of the stock units.
Q: How easy is it to change the oil +filter on my 2005 gmc sierra pickup?i mean,what type of drain plug is?
fitted and is the filter easy to get-to and to remove ect?And does the oil drain out of the filter with the engine oil too?
A: no filter is on the side of the engine block,and the engine oil drain plug is on the bottom or near the bottom of the oil pan,depending on the size of engine in your truck....

the rear window is pretty flat so im thinking it would be easy to tint and the sides have a little curve but mostly flat. what type of tint should i useand what do i need?

Q: How do you install Front Wheel Bearings on a 2005 GMC Sierra 1500 Truck?
A: ok first things first the Bearing is a hub type . you replace the Hub and bearing asymblies not just the bearings.
first remove the tire and wheel ;
then remove the Brake caliper
then remove the Slip off Rotor.. may require a Small and soft tapping to the surface that the tire sits against NOT the shiny part the Brake pads ride against
then remove the 3 mounting bolts on the outter flanges NOT the part that turns and has the lug nuts
then using hammers and pry bars work the hub out of the Spindle and then reverse the steps to complete the repair

my engine light came on today on the dash board everytime i start my truck it says tighten fuel cab wish i did already and it still comes on what can i do it still have manufactured warranty is it sometime it can cover? please help me with this thank you

A: yes they will cover that, it probably has a problem with vent solenoid
Q: 2005 GMC sierra ABS light problem????
I have a 2005 GMC Sierra. My ABS light has been on for several days. I took it to the dealer and they said it will be $150 just to diagnose the problem, thats just to figure out the problem thats not to fix it. On top of that I will need to pay to fix it (weather its big or small). Still, I dont want to pay this much. I have checked the brake fluid level of the master cylinder, and thats ok. Next I am going to check the four sensors. I was wondering other than checking the sensors what else can I look for? Is there some sort of diagnostic tool I can buy to help figure this out and do it myself? What else can I check.??? By the way my brakes feel fine, I just want the light off! Thanks

Q: 2005 GMC sierra steering question....?
I have a 2005 GMC sierra, 2wd. Over the last couple years my steering has become "loose". When I first bought my truck, I really enjoyed the "tightness" of when I turned the steering wheel. Like I say, when I turn the wheel now I have noticed a very big decrease in the factory tightness. Also, I put a 4inch fabtech lift on my truck. I had this put on right when I bought it and I dont think its from the lift because the truck kept its factory steer even after. I called fabtech and asked about their "steering stabilizer" they make for my truck. They told me that this is not what its meant for. My question is how do I get my steering back to factory?? Everythings always better when its tighter....
A: Take it to a mechanic and tell him it's loose!

MY PICKUP DEVELOPED RUST IN SEVERAL AREAS AND THE REP FOR GMC SAID THAT IT WAS NOT COVERED DUE TO IT BEING FROM THE INSIDE OUT.THE TRUCK IS AN 05 AND AT THE TIME IT ONLY HAD 18000 MILES.I WAS TOLD THAT WARRANTY WILL NOT COVER THIS UNLESS IT IS A HOLE THAT IS RUSTED THROUGH FROM THE OUTER PANELS.

A: look in your manual that came with the truck,the electrical section has a diagram of fuse panal it will tell you what each fuse runs, there should be extra fuse in the panel aswell.

Q: Where is the air filter located on a 2005 gmc 1500 sierra truck?
A: Look for the battery. The air cleaner will be on the opposite side usually right side when facing the grille. It's inside a plastic rectangular box. There are two captive set screws on the box toward the motor. The door of the box will swing open exposing the air filter. It's a little cramped in there and you'll gain much more room if you carefully remove the hose from the throttle body and completely remove it. The door to the sir filter cold air box will lift straight out.

A: Have to go to a dealership, locksmiths CANNOT get key codes from the VIN, these codes are stored on a manufacturer database that only GM employees have access to (or whichever manufacturer it may be).
If a locksmith does get a code, he is getting it from a dealer and charging you more than the dealer would charge you. (you should be able to get it for $10 or less at the dealer)
